Willington Prep - Celebrating 140 years - 1885-2025
In English we did a comprehension about Anne Frank, in SPAG we had to try and describe an emotion without using the emotion word and we also got to write our own silly free verse poems. We completed the tricky task of doing column method addition and subtraction and missing number sentences in maths. We enjoyed listening to everyones home-made instruments in Science and in Drama we were rehearsing our Pantastic musical, which was really fun!
In History this week we were learning about key events in Aztec history and where/when they lived. We even learnt to spell the tricky name of their city, Tenochtitlan near lake Texcoco. We learnt about 4 figure grid references, which are used to locate a rough area on a map. We also learnt about the Trimurti of the Hindus (the gods Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva) in RS. Brahma the god of creation, Vishnu, the god of preservation and Shiva, the god of destruction.
In Art, we have been sketching nature and we used graphite sticks to show the bark on a detailed tree. This week, we did touch typing and we used the search engine Google to answer some questions in computing. We had so much fun in music practicing our spring production songs. In French we learnt a new song about the months of the year and we learnt how to say the words for some items of clothing.
