Year 1

It’s been a fun but busy week in Year 1! In English, we’ve been focusing on proper nouns and using capital letters correctly. The children also had a go at writing letters to the fairy godmother asking for advice – we had some very imaginative replies!  

In Maths, we’ve revisited our money topic, with the children practising giving change, adding up prices and solving word problems.  

Science was a highlight this week as we learned all about reptiles and amphibians. The children had great fun using their artistic skills to model one out of plasticine.  

In R.S, we’ve been discussing the topic of friendship, and the children came up with some wonderful ideas about what makes a good friend.
