We began our new week with all things Dinosaur !!!
The children have become very excited as we embark as Dinosaur explorers eager to learn about these fascinating creatures.
We started off with incorporating dinosaurs into our maths lessons as we counted and colour sorted the dinosaurs into groups. Dinosaur dominoes proved to be great fun and a popular activity.
We are learning about carnivorous dinosaurs and what this means and their names.
Using the interactive board we watched some clips about carnivore dinosaurs with David Attenborough which the children thoroughly enjoyed and they asked to watch it again!
The children were also introduced to a new painting technique called ‘Sponging’, after watching a Monnet inspired sponging clip they each had a small size sponge to dip in the paint to dab, pat, blot and spread their chosen colour paint to achieve a brilliant effect for their Dinosaur scene picture background.
We have been examining the different footprints of the children’s favourite three dinosaurs Tyrannosaurus rex, stegosaurus and triceratops. We cut these out and painted them in preparation for our class dinosaur display.
The fun learning continues with the Magna-tiles where upon the children used the big magnetic board to create dinosaurs following the illustrations on the pictures.
