This week we caught up on how everyone's November Break went. We also had a Community Circle where the question was: Do you find yourself to be a leader or follower? What situations do you tend to be more of a leader? What situations do you tend to be more of a follower? The responses varied from "I'm an older sibling so I have to be a leader" to "I'm a bossy follower but an angry leader." Students were also sent home with the in-class Spelling Bee list. We will hold our advisory Spelling Bee on Tuesday. I can't wait to see who will represent us at the school-wide Spelling Bee!
In addition, it's almost that time of year again: Holidays Around the World! We are once again partnered with Mrs. Sanchez's 3rd grade class. But, this year we will be teaching students about Hannukuh. For this, Mrs. Sanchez and I were looking for jelly donuts (sufganiyot) to be donated. CLICK HERE if you are able to drop off some jelly donuts on the morning of Wednesday, December 17th!

Attendance Challenge: HERE for the Hot Cocoa!
Our Here for the Hot Cocoa Attendance Challenge is back! From December 1st - 19th grade levels will be competing to win a hot cocoa celebration. The grade level with the highest attendance percentage from K-5, middle school, and high school will win a hot cocoa celebration! More important than the hot cocoa is knowing that students who don’t show up for school regularly miss out on fundamental reading and math skills and the chance to build a habit of good attendance that will carry them into college and careers.
