SELF-CONTROL

We will identify and discuss how to stop and think before making decisions.

We will use self-control skills to improve decision-making.

Self-Control: The ability to regulate one's own thoughts, words, emotions, and actions.

Consequences: The outcomes of our actions.

Willpower: The ability and strength to restrain ourselves in the moment in order to meet a particular goal later on.

In this lesson, we're going to be targeting self-control skills.  Our self-control is our own ability to regulate our thoughts, words, feelings, and actions.

Both of these videos show difficult, but important, it is to have self-control.  After watching them, complete assignment 2.5. Remember that all answers must be in complete sentences.

Self-control is something we need to practice in order to make gains.  We use self-control when we patiently wait in line, when we ignore rude requests, or when we raise our hand to talk in class.

Practice increasing your self control by watching the Try Not to Laugh Challenge below.  Then, complete assignment 2.6 by sorting the scenarios into the correct category.
