The survival cooking was an activity that took place in the form of a community service event in place of the mandatory Thai reserve officer training. During this activity we were able to break into groups and set up our own fires to cook a Thai traditional dish known as "Tom Yum" along with cooked chicken with rice. During this activity we were able learn about the processes of making a fire with limited resources and the processes of cooking food in the given metal canisters.

Growing up in the city, I had never thought I would be able to experience a such event though this opened my eyes to a whole different life style that many have to face. This experience allowed me to learn new skills in the cases of survival situations
