The Web Summit app let's you connect with other attendees and continue conversations instantly, whether that’s arranging meetings, chatting during the event, or staying in touch afterwards.
You can view your personalised schedule in the app at any time.
Any talks you save, or meetings and activities you arrange via the app will automatically appear in your personal schedule.
Is there an attendee you’d really like to connect with?
If they haven't already appeared in your Feed, you can search for them via the Search icon in the app dock. Tap on Send connection request, and you’ll be able to share your contact card (email, WhatsApp, etc.) to start the conversation.
You can provide a message for the context of the connection. The attendee will see this when they receive your connections request.
Company Scanning mode is a lead-scanning function that is controlled by the ticket owner. It can be enabled from the ticket owner's ticket dashboard for certain people within your organisation. All leads gathered by your chosen team members can be viewed in a single consolidated report.
Leads you scan using company scanning mode can be added to your company's mailing lists and more without breaching GDPR. As soon as a scanned attendee accepts your connection request, the connection becomes GDPR compliant.
All leads gathered by your team can be viewed in a single consolidated report, which can be exported directly from the app at any time by anyone in your team who has lead scanning function enabled.
The selected ticket manager has the ability to grant access to company mode scanning to each ticket they have assigned.
Once a ticket has been assigned, access can be turned on or off at any point in time directly through your ticket dashboard.
If a ticket holder has signed into the mobile app before company scanning mode has been turned on via your ticket dashboard, they will need to log out of the mobile app and log in again in order for company scanning mode to activate.
Important to note: Lead scanning can only be enabled once the ticket is assigned to a person.

Toggle to switch between scanning as an individual or as your company. Attendees will receive connection requests once they are scanned.
Once you scan an attendee, they need to approve the scan on their app.
Why only grant access to those in my company?
Some partners allocate some of their tickets to clients and partners. To avoid any GDPR breaches and give clients potential visibility of your leads, it's important only to grant access to your team members focused on lead generation. As a default, the company scanning mode is turned off.
It is important to only grant company scanning access to people from your own company or organization.
If you have any executive or chairperson tickets included in your contract, it is possible to grant access to company scanning mode for these ticket types also.
Select your profile icon to access your personal connections and review any pending connection requests awaiting your response.

It is recommended that you check this section regularly as you will not receive a notification when an attendee connects with your company profile.
This data can be used for various marketing purposes after the event has concluded, however, it must be used in compliance with your own company privacy policy.

Alternatively, partners can avail of various lead retrieval packages from our third-party supplier, Zuant, which offers a ‘lite, classic, and pro’ package. Zuant packages can come with additional features and benefits, such as customizable questions and the inclusion of your company logo. You can view the difference between the services below.
If your core objective at our event is lead generation, we would advise speaking to the Zuant team about the packages they have available.
If you would like to speak with the Zuant team and learn, please let the partner success team know, and they can introduce you.
If partners use the Web Summit mobile app to scan attendees, it is the partner's responsibility to ensure the attendee has been informed that their data will be processed in accordance with the partner's privacy policy and that the attendee understands why their personal data is being processed and what will be shared with them.
Data Protection guidelines
When an attendee clicks the connect button on the company profile, they agree to share their contact details and event profile information with the partner.
You can email yourself a list of your company profile connections from the section in your profile in the mobile app*.
(*Lead scanning functionality needs to be enabled for your ticket in order to do so. You can find more about this in the lead scanning section.)
