Your profile

A company's online presence is invaluable for attracting the right people, whether that's investors, customers or partners. Your profile serves as a first introduction to the 70,000 attendees joining us in Lisbon for Web Summit.

You can find a link to your startup profile in your welcome email from your startup success manager, find out more here.

What is my profile used for?

Your startup profile is a visual representation of your company at our event. The information supplied is multi purpose and will be used in the following ways;

  • To print your exhibition board

  • To create your company profile on our mobile app, therefore visible to all our attendees such as investors, partners and media.

  • To send to investors through our meeting portal, where investors choose startups they want to meet at the event.

  • To have your company listed on our featured startup page

Profile page explained

Exhibition board

The printed board will hang on your exhibition stand and will display the following information about your company:

  • Company name

  • Company logo

  • Industry category

  • Elevator pitch

  • Country of HQ

  • Company website

  • Company Twitter handle

Failure to complete your profile by your allocated deadline means that we will be unable to print your exhibition board or assign you an exhibition booth at Web Summit.

Company name

Enter the company name you wish to appear on your startup profile, visible to all attendees. Please note, taglines or special characters not part of your company name will be removed.

Choosing an industry category

You can only select one industry category, so select the industry you most want to target at Web Summit. Investors will also look at startup companies’ profiles based on industry, so think about the focus of your company from this perspective to help you make your choice.

Elevator pitch

This is a short, 140-character summary of your product or service offering. Make sure your message is clear, coherent and grammatically correct. Any emojis, symbols or additional images will be removed when printing.

Please ensure when writing your elevator pitch you follow our content guidelines found here.

Please note: Profiles are not proofread before printing. Please make sure to check for typos and use of correct characters. Excessive use of capital letters will be amended to sentence case.

Important: As your profile will appear on our featured startups page, please ensure it adheres to our content guidelines.

Think of your profile as visual marketing. Your profile says a lot about your company. How you phrase your elevator pitch will have an effect on how people engage with your company. How your logo looks will have an impact on how many people view your profile.

**All logos uploaded must be in EPS format.**

Uploading your logo

Why does my logo have to be an EPS file?

EPS files allow for flexibility – particularly in terms of resizing – and provide the best quality version of your logo. We will need to resize your company logo in order to design your exhibition board. Non-vector files appear pixelated or warped when resized.

What should my logo look like?

Your logo is the first thing Web Summit attendees will see, we recommend going to a designer to create your logo for you. Getting a professionally made logo is an investment into your company's future.

If you already have a logo created we require an .eps version of it to allow us to scale for your exhibition board. If your logo is predominantly white, or contains white text, please consider using an alternative version to help it stand out against the white background of your board.

Your logo can not contain a QR code - any external QR codes would not be compatible with our in-app QR code scanner and may cause confusion with other attendees. Additionally, please do not add another company's logo to your exhibition board.

My logo will not upload to my startup profile, what do I do?

Logos must be uploaded in vector/EPS format. Other file types, including JPG, PNG and GIF, are pixel-based file formats and will not offer the best image quality. If you attempt to resize a pixel-based image, the pixels will become visible and your logo will appear blurry or fuzzy. For this reason, our site does not allow them to be uploaded.

How can I create an EPS version of my logo?

EPS files can only be created in applications such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. If you do not have access to this software, please contact your designer, who will have these files available.
