Quiz Time & Creative Ways to Demonstrate Learning

"How can I quickly assess my students understanding of a topic? Can I easily assess my students - without a lot of papers to grade?"

Put your digital tools to work and let them help you assess your students' understanding of a topic. Pose a question, conduct a poll, or play a game to gather formative data about your students.

Quiz Time!

These formative assessment tools shared on posters created by Tony Vincent on Learning in Hand can assist you in promptly assessing your students in a variety of ways.

What are some more creative ways students can demonstrate what they know?

Cards

Use the Trading Card Creator by Read Write Think to create trading cards about different topics.

Collages

Use the Pic Collage Edu app or Be Funky Photo Editor website to create photo collages.

Comic Strips

Use the Comics Head app on iPads to create comics or StoryBoard That website to create comic strips on a variety of topics. (Students can create 2 free comics a week.)

Concept Maps

Use Popplet or Read Write Think Webbing Tool to create concept and mind maps that include audio, pictures, and text.

Can we add Chrome extensions to the student Chromebooks?

For Chromebooks, students can install approved extensions. You can view the currently approved WCPSS extensions and click Approved for WCPSS Students in the left column. Some extensions may only provide basic functions without the paid upgrade.

If you believe students would benefit from additional extensions, please complete a Help Desk ticket with:

  • The name of the extension
  • What educational value the extension possesses
  • Direct link to the extension on the Chrome Web Store
