WakeID & PowerSchool

PowerSchool gives guardians and students access to real-time information including attendance, grades, and assignments.  WIth PowerSchool, students stay on top of assignments, parents are able to participate in their child's progress, and teachers can instantly share information from their grade book with parents and students.  Families with multiple students can also set up their accounts to view all of their students at one time, with one login.

Transportation

Your online enrollment form will allow you to indicate the need for transportation.  It can take up to 2 weeks for your student to get assigned to a bus route.

WCPSS Transportation provides families of students who ride a yellow bus to school with a free bus tracking system called Here Comes the Bus 

Bus routes are always subject to change and sometimes run late or get cancelled due to bus driver shortages.  

Chromebooks

All Wake County students receive a Chromebook (laptop).  To get a WCPSS Chromebook, ask  your counselor to submit a Help Desk Request.

Bell Schedule

Our school day begins at 7:25AM.  Students should be seated and in class by 7:25AM.  Students are allowed to start entering the school building at 6:55AM.  Students are dismissed at 2:18PM. 

A/B day Schedule

BHS operates on an A day/ B day schedule.  Students take 8 courses for the entire school year and alternate between an A day schedule and a B day schedule.  Each student has 4 A day classes and 4 B day classes. 

Lunches

We have two lunches at Broughton: 1st Lunch and 2nd Lunch.  Your lunch time is based on your 3rd period class.  You may have 1st lunch on A days and 2nd lunch on B days.

Off-Campus Lunch Pass

Juniors and Seniors ONLY are allowed to sign up for an off-campus lunch pass.  You must complete the required form and pay $20 to get an off-campus lunch pass.

Tutoring  & Teacher Office Hours

Come to our after-school tutoring lab or meet with your teacher during their after-school office hours to improve your grade and/or make up any missed tests or quizzes. 

Student Clubs

Clubs are a great way to meet new people, make friends who have similar interests, and get to know your new school better!

To workout, practice, or try-out for a sport, you must: 

Community Service

Students must complete 25 hours of community services each year while enrolled at Broughton High School and submit verification of their hours on their x2VOL account.

Senior Dues

Seniors must pay $50 in senior dues.  This payment covers the cost of the graduation cap & gown, senior diploma, diploma cover, senior breakfast, senior t-shirt, senior family picnic, and senior lunch.
