The Music and Theatre Department cultivates creative expression, collaboration, and disciplined practice through performance and production. Students grow as artists while learning to contribute meaningfully to ensembles and creative teams.
Courses emphasize communication, teamwork, skill development, and reflection. Performing arts experiences help students build confidence, empathy, and a strong sense of community. All Music and Theatre courses fulfill the Fine Arts graduation requirement. Enrollment in a performing ensemble—band, orchestra, or choir—is a full-year commitment, as ensembles require balanced instrumentation or voices. This commitment supports both high-quality performance and the development of responsibility and teamwork.
Through Music and Theatre coursework, students develop creativity, collaboration, and personal responsibility aligned with the Portrait of a Wayzata Graduate.
