Another Day- Sit in your SP for 20 minutes. Focus your observations on forgotten objects and places where there may be hidden artifacts. Look for bumps in the ground, bits sticking out from behind other things etc. Really use your eagle eyes! Investigate by moving things around, clearing off dirt, brushing etc and
with permission digging. Once you have found some artifacts make a timeline for your SP. If it's at your house when did you move there? Did someone live there before you? If your SP is at a park when was it established? What was it before it was a park (or your house) Ask a parent or guardian for help researching. See how far back you can go on your timeline- who lived on your SP before the United States was colonized? (Hint: Baltimore County was the hunting ground for the
Susquehannock Tribe.) What was it
before people arrived? Try and place your artifacts on your timeline, either by laying it out on the ground and marking with sidewalk chalk or drawing pictures in your journal. Keep adding to it as you find more treasures.
