TOUCH GOLD TIME
INTERVENTION/EXTENSION
At Snow Canyon High School, we believe that every student can master core concepts when given the right support. To ensure no student falls behind, we dedicate a specific, built-in Academic Intervention Time twice a week to target and correct skill deficiencies before they impact final grades.
When It Happens: Intervention time takes place every Wednesday and Thursday during the last 20 minutes of each class period.
The Purpose: This is a structured inclusion of each class period designed for students to receive immediate help with specific skills, concepts, or assignments they are struggling with. It is a proactive approach to prevent academic deficits.
Student Expectations:
Students are expected to remain in class and actively engage during this time.
This is not "free time" or early dismissal; it is a critical piece of the learning day.
Students can use this window to ask questions, clear up misunderstandings, have extra time to complete challenging work, or engage in learning extensions to deepen understanding - as directed by their teacher.
Parent Support: We ask that parents reinforce the importance of these 20-minute windows. Please avoid scheduling early student check-outs on Wednesday and Thursday afternoons whenever possible so your student doesn't miss this valuable, free tutoring and support.
