TECHNOLOGY ACCEPTABLE USE POLICY
The Washington County School District provides access to technology resources—including internet, digital tools, and school-issued devices—to amplify and support student learning. Utilizing these resources is a privilege that comes with the responsibility to act ethically, legally, and respectfully.
No Expectation of Privacy: When you use any school network, device, email account, or digital service, your data and activities are monitored, logged, and filtered by the district. The school has the right to review any files or communications created or accessed on its network at any time.
Responsible Digital Citizenship: You are expected to practice safe and respectful online behavior. Cyberbullying, sending inappropriate messages, or using any digital device to threaten, humiliate, or harass another person is strictly prohibited and will result in serious disciplinary consequences.
Strictly Prohibited Actions:
Bypassing or attempting to disable school internet filters.
Accessing systems, data, or someone else's account without explicit permission.
Violating copyright laws by downloading or sharing digital content illegally.
Using school technology to cause a disruption to the educational environment.
Search and Seizure: If school administrators have a reasonable suspicion that any device (including your personal phone) contains evidence of a school policy violation or illegal activity, it is subject to search and confiscation.
Remember: You are responsible for how you use district technology. Protect your passwords, respect others online, and keep your digital footprint positive and safe. Use of devices at home requires a signed Student Computing Device Agreement.
