Graduation Ceremonies Participation: The Washington County School District requires that students meet all graduation requirements in order to participate in graduation ceremonies.

Changes for the 2027-2028 School Year: Class of 2028 and Beyond
For students in the graduating Class of 2028, the total credits required for graduation will increase from 27 to 28.
New Social Studies Requirement: In accordance with state law, students are now required to complete an additional .5 credit of Social Studies.
American Government & Citizenship: To meet this requirement, the previous .5 credit "US Government" course is being replaced by a full 1.0 credit "American Government and Citizenship" course. This course provides a deeper dive into the foundations of our democracy and the responsibilities of civic life.
Valedictorian & Salutatorian
All candidates must have a cumulative GPA of 4.0 at the end of third quarter of their senior year.
Class rank will be determined using a point system valuing classes from the areas of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
The student with the highest class rank will be the Valedictorian. The student with the second highest class rank will be the Salutatorian.
