CREDIT RECOVERY
CREDIT RECOVERY
If a student fails a quarter of a required class, they do not need to repeat the entire semester or school year. Instead, they may be enrolled in Credit Recovery to make up the missing credit and stay on track for graduation.
Quarter Value: Each successfully completed credit recovery course is worth one-quarter (0.25) credit. Students are permitted to recover as many credits as they need.
Flexible Options: Students have two ways to complete their coursework:
Built into Schedule: Complete the credit recovery course(s) as a designated class period during the regular school day and receive an additional .25 elective credit per quarter. The additional credit is only received after completing a minimum of one course and attending the class regularly - attendance is 50% of the grade.
At-Home Study: Complete the recovery course entirely on their own time at home.
Enrollment Fee: There is a $20 fee per quarter. Students can complete as many courses as possible in that time frame.
Fee Waivers: Please note that Credit Recovery is an optional makeup program and is not covered under the school fee waiver policy.
To officially earn the missing quarter credit, the student must meet strict completion and academic standards:
100% Completion: The digital course must be completely finished, with all assignments, quizzes, and modules completed.
75% Minimum Grade: Students must achieve a relative grade of 75% or higher in the course.
Pass/Fail Standard: Credit Recovery is not a grade replacement. It will not alter or erase the original failing grade on the student's transcript. Instead, it is recorded as a Pass/Fail mark used strictly to grant the missing graduation credit.
Next Steps: If your student needs to recover a credit, please contact their school counselor as soon as possible to pay the fee and get the course activated.
