If students wish to change their allocated options, they may do so. Please note that it may not be possible in all cases due to timetable and/or class availability. Students will not be permitted to change without the permission of a parent or carer. Should students wish to request a change they will need to complete a change request form (available between Monday 30th June and Friday 4th July, and will re-open upon our return in September). The change request is then reviewed, and if the change is possible, we will seek parental approval for the change. If the change is not possible we will advise of any alternatives or place students on the waitlist.
Students will need to be signed into their Warden Park email accounts to access the form. It is the student who completes the form. Before students consider submitting a change request, they should ensure they review the information below.
All change requests must be received by the end of October half term 2025. It will not be possible to change options after this date. It is our academy policy that students study a full curriculum. Students must understand that they must remain in their allocated subjects throughout their Key Stage 4 curriculum (Years 9-11). We will be unable to consider a request to change a student's options after this date. If you have any concerns with a subject please speak with the class teacher in the first instance. The process to request a change to any subject is as detailed above. The open/closing dates of the form are as follows:
Monday 30th June 9am: Initial form opening after options allocations
Friday 4th July at 5pm: The form will temporarily close. This is to enable us to finalise class lists in preparation for issuing timetables
Start of Year 9 2025: The form will re-open upon our return from the summer break
End of October half term 2025: The form will close for final changes. It will not be possible to make any changes after this date
Please note that there is extremely limited space and in some cases a wait list only for the subjects listed below. This means being able to change to this subject is largely dependent upon another student requesting a change. Spaces are allocated in order of the date the request is received, so even if the subject is included below, it is still important to submit your request so you can be added to the wait list.
Child Development
Computer Science
Business
History
Raise
Spanish
Please note that the following subjects were oversubscribed and so students who missed this choice in the initial allocations have priority on the wait list. Whilst we can add students to the wait list it is unlikely to be allocated. If you had one of the subjects below as your 4th choice, you do not need to submit a request to change, you have been automatically added to the waitlist.

1. Speak to your current class teacher (if you study this subject in Key Stage 3), it may be that they will be able to help solve any issues with your chosen subject.
2. Speak with the new curriculum area - head of department or teacher: Am I changing to the right subject?
4. Consult with your parents - are they in support of your decision? Submit the form (when available). You must be signed into your Warden Park account to access the form.
5. Wait for Mr Atwell to get in touch via email. Please note, this may take up to a week due to the number of requests we usually receive.
Our students select their options in Year 8, for study in Years 9-11. Once the change period at the beginning of Year 9 has passed, it is therefore no longer possible to change a student's choice of curriculum. It is our expectation that students will study a full curriculum throughout Key Stage 4. We often receive requests for students to 'drop' subjects throughout Key Stage 4. Please note this is only considered in exceptional circumstances, where a specific medical or significant learning need is evident. Full details are set out in our curriculum policy (section 2.5) which is available here.
