Learning Support

This option is by invite only from Mr Simpson (SENDCO). Students who cannot access the full range of curriculum choices may benefit from dedicated time in the Additional Learning department. Students in Year 10 will also be encouraged to take part in the Duke of Edinburgh programme. 

It is the expectation of the Academy that nearly all students will study a full, broad and balanced curriculum. Mr Simpson and his team will be available throughout the options process to speak with parents and students about this option. 

The Learning Support option combines bespoke, targeted interventions along with the following curriculum experiences (where appropriate, based on individual student needs): 

• Forest School

• Angling Project

• Social Communications Group

• Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award (in Year 10)
