Time Management (time man·age·ment) - the ability to use one's time effectively or productively.
Managing one’s time is a learned skill. At WHS we encourage this skill by giving deadlines and enough time to complete assignments. Not all assignments can be completed in class and some need to be completed at home. Students are encouraged to take advantage of the time they are given, use their planners or calendars, and submit assignments on the deadlines.
Why is this important?
Managing one’s time is a learned skill. Time management creates work-life balance and increases feelings of life satisfaction and happiness.
When will you need to utilize this skill?
Students will need to practice time management during class to best utilize the class period and time outside of class when they are working independently.
What will students do to practice these skills?
Students should take advantage of the time they are given inside and outside of class, use their planners or calendars, and submit assignments on the deadlines. Also, students need to be fully present and engaged in class in order to complete tasks in the time allotted and planned for by the teacher.
How will teachers help students master these skills?
At WHS we encourage this skill by clearly communicating expectations, giving deadlines and enough time to complete assignments. Not all assignments can be completed in class and some need to be completed at home.
