At WHS successful students actively participate in class, extracurriculars, athletics, and/or clubs.
Why is this important?
Participation shows that you are engaged in the learning process and also allows the staff to determine if the student understands a concept.
When will you need to utilize this skill?
You will participate in your classes by taking part in discussions, contributing during group work, asking questions, public speaking, and thinking critically.
What will students do to practice these skills?
At WHS successful students actively participate in: contributing to class discussions, are active members of a club or extracurricular activity and involved in an athletic team. Everyone brings value in some way!
How will teachers help students master these skills?
At WHS teachers are dedicated to creating experiences and an environment in which students are comfortable sharing their thoughts and ideas and asking questions. Teachers will design a variety of activities so that students can practice participating on a regular basis.
