Navid Ghaffarzadegan (on the left) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Virginia Tech. He develops system dynamics models to simulate and analyze complex social systems and policy problems. The main application areas of his research include modeling to inform science policy and health policy. Navid’s research has been supported by several grants from the U.S. National Institutes of Health and National Science Foundation, as well as by industry sponsors such as Dell. He is the recipient of the 2016 College of Engineering Dean’s Award for Outstanding New Assistant Professor. He is an Associate Editor of the System Dynamics Review.
