Our draft on our colour choices for each Olympian. Colour choices may change later on.
Lei Yuan and i wanted to make something that was aesthetically pleasing and had purpose. Hence, with inspiration from a Japanese man called Jun Yoshizuki (Example of Jun Yoshizuki's product is on the left), we came up with a similar product that is affordable and can be used as gifts and decor.
Materials needed:
Transparent containers (different shapes)
Flowers
Mineral oil (we used Baby Johnson's Oil)
Small decorative stones
General idea of our product: Our product is called 'Captured Fantasy' as each glass tube contains different realms ruled by 6 different Olympians - Nymphs, Dryads, Dionysus, Gaea, Persephone and Artemis. This will be done by using different colours and floral arrangements to represent each Olympian's realms. We decided to have a mythology-based theme to make the product appear more interesting and one-of-a-kind as some students may have a liking for mythology! This idea of using gods and deities was inspired by our orientation camp's theme: Xenatos.
This product can be easily done in just 4 steps!!
[Basic process]
STEP 1: Place matching coloured stones at the bottom of the containers.
STEP 2: Place the dried flowers into the containers.
STEP 3: Rearrange the preserved flowers in the container until you get your desired arrangement.
STEP 4: Fill the containers up with the oil.
DONE!!
Target: This product is targeted towards anyone who likes the artistic and aesthetic side of plants. It reminds people that plants are not just beautiful during their lifespan and are not just limited to pots and gardens. Instead, their beauty can be captured in different forms!
Purposes & Advantages: Because this product comes in different themes, there will be a variety of different floral arrangements and colours for each herbarium. So, buyers will not be restricted to just one herbarium arrangement. Also, this product comes in different shapes and sizes. Hence, this product accommodates the buyers' desires and is very flexible. Plus, the product itself is aesthetically pleasing and can be used as a gift for someone else or just solely for decoration. Therefore, this product is simple yet multi-purposeful and fun! It is a great way to creatively incorporate plants into our lives! Buyers who are not the best in taking care and growing plants will not have to worry as this product does not require any maintenance at all because the plants are all preserved. Even though the flowers are preserved, they are still vibrant in colour.
Thus, this product captures and prolongs the beauty of plants and can be given to anyone as a gift for any occasion!
Why i think this business will be successful: This product shows people the different ways in which plants can be used. It inspires people to get creative and try new things, maybe even make their own herbarium at home! Not many places sell these types of herbariums unless they are sold online. Even so, they can be very expensive, sold at up to $30 at some websites. We want to encourage people to explore different aspects and uses of plants. So, our product will not be too expensive. Hence, this product is affordable, multi-purposeful, long-lasting and fun!
