Okayama 岡山県庁

In the latter half of 1956, Okayama Prefectural Government Office began looking into the idea of installing a music siren on their new prefectural government office, in fact, there was an entire committee dedicated to deciding what songs would play at what time, and which music siren model would work best for them. Soon, the committee's decision was made, and in March of 1957, a 12-note music siren was installed atop the new government office. The first song was played on March 19, 1957, and for 34 years, the music siren played four times a day.
1956年後半、岡山県庁は新庁舎にミュージックサイレンを設置する構想を検討し始めました。実際、どの曲をいつ流すか、またどのモデルのミュージックサイレンが最適かを決定するために、専用の委員会が設置されました。まもなく委員会の決定が下され、1957年3月、新しい政府庁舎の屋上に12音のミュージックサイレンが設置された。1957年3月19日に初めて曲が流され、その後34年間にわたり、このミュージックサイレンは1日4回鳴り響いた。

In 1991, the Okayama Prefectural Government ordered a second-generation music siren, and it was installed in April of that year. For six years, the new music siren ran until it was abruptly stopped in March of 1997. Citizens called the office, asking why it had stopped ringing, and the office confirmed that it was intentional. Complaints from new citizens who were not used to the music siren as well as the rise of the watch rendering the 40-year-old time-telling mechanism obsolete led the government to quietly end its use.
1991年、岡山県は第2世代のミュージックサイレンを発注し、同年4月に設置された。この新しいミュージックサイレンは6年間稼働したが、1997年3月に突然停止した。市民から「なぜ音が鳴らなくなったのか」という問い合わせが役場に寄せられ、役場はそれが意図的な措置であることを認めた。ミュージックサイレンに慣れていない新住民からの苦情や、40年もの間使用されてきた時刻告知装置が時代遅れとなり、腕時計の普及が進んだことが重なり、県はひっそりとその使用を中止した。

However, much of the populace requested it be brought back, so a vote was held. 70% of the city wanted the music siren to continue ringing, so its operations resumed in July of the same year. However, the 7 AM blast of 'Morning' and 9 PM blast of 'Edo Lullaby' was ended when the music siren began playing again.
しかし、多くの市民が復活を要望したため、投票が行われた。市民の70％がミュージックサイレンの継続を望んだため、同年7月に運用が再開された。しかし、ミュージックサイレンが再開された際、午前7時の『朝』と午後9時の『江戸の子守唄』の演奏は中止された。

In August of 2016, the prefecture announced the music siren would stop playing at the end of the month due to Yamaha ceasing maintenance of the music sirens in 2011, so on the 31st, the music siren played Dvorak's From the New World - Largo for the last time. It was later removed in February 2022, and its fate is unknown.
2016年8月、岡山県は、ヤマハが2016年にミュージックサイレンのサポートを終了したことを受け、同月末をもって音楽サイレンの放送を終了すると発表した。そのため、31日にはドヴォルザークの『新世界より』の「ラルゴ」が最後に流された。その後、2022年2月に撤去され、現在の所在は不明である。
