WriteReader is a digital writing tool used to develop writing skills and spark creativity.
WriteReader is a unique literacy platform that offers children as young as three to learn through creation and to become published authors. The writing app is versatile for students to use with any digital device at school or home.
It is critical to teach foundational writing skills to students, especially in young learners. Early writers need opportunities to engage with digital text using word processing skills. WriteReader helps students learn how to read through the process of writing creatively. There is evidence-based research that concludes the "cross-modal benefits of reading and writing" (Shanahan, 2019, p. 311).
WriteReader provides young writers the opportunity to create stories that interest them. Boscolo and Gelati (2019) suggested that effective teachers enthuse motivated writers by "allowing them to choose their on topics" (p. 57). Students can become a published author by using the WriteReader digital literacy platform.
An essential component needed for building a productive classroom environment that fosters creativity during the writing process is collaboration. Friedrich (2019) states "students working together can have a positive impact on writing quality" (p. 39). WriteReader ensures useful feedback by supporting positive interactions with peers at school as well as encouraging parental involvement at home.
