At last the first of my two waltzes. The Eton Boating Song – one of my favourites. I threaded my way through the room in search of her.

I was pleased to find that I was in exceptionnally good voice. No doubt I was not in a mood to be critical, but I must say my performance delighted me. The number which I had selected for rendition was that old and tried favourite, the 'Eton Boating Song', and it came out as smooth as silk, except that I noted a tendency on the part of the words to run into each other a little.
