Scouting is a set of programs, including Cub Scouting and Boy Scouting, designed to prepare participants for adulthood. Not only does it teach "outdoor skills" such as camping or fishing, as the common understanding goes, it also teaches practical, everyday skills such as cooking, economics, and of course, being prepared.
