Colorado SB 23-38

The bill in the Colorado legislature was headed in the right direction.  Unfortunately the cattle lobby was permitted to gut the language protecing wild horses from slaughter.  In fact if enacted Colorado will be encouraging production of horse meat for human consumption.

Western Horse Watchers Report on Ammendments

Rocky Mountain Farmers Union supports horse slaughter for human consumption

Consider writing the sponsors. Please, ask them to include a mandate for livestock sales operators to make public the source (from whom the horses were consigned) for all animals they receive. Making the names of the seller public will slow the pipeline considerably.
