Well done to Jack who completed his Self-Motivated Stars & Stripes badge by completing 10 extracurricular activities and writing a club review. You really are a Walkden Star, Jack. It's so great to have some many pupils so passionate about playing chess Jack also earned 50 achievement points too!

I currently attend Chess club every Wednesday and Friday. I play regular games against various people and Leader board games against the people in 1st, 3rd and 4th. This is because to change spaces on the leader board you can only challenge those 2 above (or below) you. I also sometimes play Mr Johnson, who I have only ever beaten once. I am second on the leader board and have been playing chess for around 2 Years. Chess Club is on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lunchtimes. Over the last year, I have begun to take chess more seriously and in my own time research chess strategies and techniques to allow me to develop my game. I would recommend Chess club to absolutely anyone because you can play people with a variety of Skill and expertise and it's really easy to learn the basics!
