Character Boats

One of the positive changes to come out of operations during the COVID pandemic has been the introduction of the character boats to Animal Kingdom. Walt Disney theme parks have long been known for the kinetic energy visible to guests from the Peoplemover, Skyway, Monorail, boats and how the other attractions are laid out. Keeping the character boats around permanently, with an update, will continue that legacy.

Replacing the decorated pontoon boats, will be themed boats more fitting for the park and space, yet still providing visibility of the characters and/or musicians on board. Two new boat designs will be added to the rotation. One will resemble the unique boats from the Rivers of Light nighttime show. The other will be a slightly larger boat looking similar, albeit smaller, to the old Discovery Island boats, with the roof removed.

The boats will include a rotating group of musicians and these character groups:

Safari Mickey & Minnie

Mowgli, Baloo, and King Louie

Flik and Princess Atta

Carl Fredericksen

Chip & Dale
