In this instance I will make use of two buttons on a TMD Plus 4 to control a internal roller blind via two Outputs of a MAXinBOX 16 Plus. I could use the one button, but for testing purposes thought it simpler to allocated the two buttons.
Output and Channel Setup
In this instance we will use Output 7 and 8 of the MAXinBOX 16 Plus to drive the Somfy roller blind. The Parameter configuration is shown here on Channel D (which controls Output 7 and 8).
Shutter Channel Configuration and Functions
So there are a number of Parameters which can be set from within the Channel settings. I've left most of these as the default for now as I was not aware of the actual Rise and Fall time when setting this up, but will adjust these details after I have timed the blind Rise and Fall time. I did check the 'Precise Control Objects' so that a Group Object became available to directly request blinds be open or closed to a particular percentage (I show that Group Object below).
Shutter Channel Group Objects
With the previous settings in place there are a number of Group Objects which become available which will allow control of the blind. These are shown below. I've put a red rectangle around the Group Object which became available when I checked the 'Precise Control Objects' (described above). However, I'm not actually going to use the Group Object in the description on this page.
Button Setup
It is possible to control the blind from either a single button or a pair of buttons. In this instance I'm going to use a pair of buttons to control the blind. In the image below it can be seen that I have chosen Pair B of the TMD for this purpose.
TMD Plus 4 Group Objects
As a result of the previous settings three Group Objects become available.
In this instance I make use of a template which has a number of Group Addresses pre-labelled. I've only added Group Objects to the the first three Group Addresses at this stage and only Move and Stop Group Address are linked with the TMD Buttons and the MAXinBOX channel. This should allow for the blind to be moved up and down.
The settings and shown above are not fully complete as there is no feedback to the TMD Button LEDs nor have a I set rise and fall times to match the blind. I'll likely do all that and adjust this page to reflect that at some stage.
