Controlling and monitoring KNX with Home Assistant

Home Assistant can be connected to a KNX bus via an IP device. This allows the reading and writing of telegrams from and onto the KNX bus. This is described within Home Assistant documentation, and my plan is to provide details of how I get my KNX house install connected to Home Assistant. To assist with gaining an understanding of ETS software and how a KNX install can be controlled via Home Assistant I made use of KNX Virtual.
