Band, Orchestra & Jazz classes will have different course numbers that often directly relate to a student's YEAR IN SCHOOL. For example:

• Band 2 = freshmen (with sections 1st, 5th, & 6th period)

• Band 3 = sophomores (with sections 1st, 5th, & 6th period)

• Band 4 = mostly juniors (with sections 1st, 5th, & 6th period)

• Band 5 = mostly seniors (with sections 1st, 5th, & 6th period)

Do not focus on the course number; instead look at what PERIOD the class is being taught, and whether it matches your expectation for ensemble placement (Concert Band vs. Symphonic Winds vs. Wind Ensemble).
