This policy explains how NŪR Quran handles information when you read Quran text, listen to recitation, save verses, or contact us. It covers the app's HTML content. Advertising and other services included by the Android app builder are described separately below because their operation depends on the version you install.
The Quran text, translations and reading fonts are included in the app. Reading, searching the included text, selecting a language, and changing text size do not require an account. The HTML app saves preferences, bookmarks, personal notes, reading progress, listening history and playback positions in local storage on your device. It uses these records to restore your choices and let you continue reading or listening. The HTML app does not upload these records to a developer account or a cloud synchronization service. We cannot retrieve your locally stored notes for you. Avoid writing information you do not want stored on your device.
In a browser version, the app may cache its own files for offline reading. In the packaged Android version, those reading files are included in the HTML archive. Audio recordings are streamed; they are not included as an offline audio library. Your operating system or app builder may apply its own backup and restoration settings to app data. We do not control backups made by those services.
When you start audio, your device connects to the MP3 Quran content. Network requests necessarily disclose your IP address and requested recording to the receiving service, and may include browser/device information and request timing. We do not send your notes or bookmarks with these audio requests.
Advertising is not implemented in the HTML files themselves. An Android version configured with Google AdMob through Andromo can display ads and process information through the Google Mobile Ads SDK and any advertising partners enabled in that build. Where enabled, this can include IP address and approximate location derived from it, app and ad interactions, diagnostic/performance information, and advertising, app-set or other device/account identifiers. The information supports ad delivery, measurement, fraud prevention and, where permitted and consented to, personalization. The exact SDKs, partners, privacy controls and data handling depend on the Android build's configuration. Google explains its handling here: https://policies.google.com/privacy and https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites . Do not interpret a choice of non-personalized ads as a guarantee that no information is processed.
Where an advertising consent or privacy-options screen is provided, use it to review or change the choices available for your region. Android also provides advertising-ID controls in system settings. Clearing the app's reading data does not delete information held separately by advertising providers. For provider-held information, use that provider's privacy controls or contact us for help identifying the appropriate provider.
You can export bookmarks, notes and reading progress to a backup file or select a compatible file to import. These actions are initiated by you. Exported files can contain personal notes in readable form; store them carefully. The HTML app does not automatically send backups to us. The Android file chooser or download destination is controlled by your device and app builder. When you copy a verse, it is placed on your device clipboard; clipboard handling is controlled by your operating system and other apps you use.
If you email projects.mma@gmail.com, we receive your email address and the content and attachments you choose to send. We use them to answer your request and investigate the issue. Do not send private notes, passwords or unnecessary sensitive information. Email is handled by the email service providers involved in delivering the message.
Local reading records remain until you remove them, clear the app's storage, or your device removes them. In the app, open Settings and choose Erase local app data. You can export a backup before confirming. This erases NŪR notes, bookmarks, reading and listening history, and preferences stored by the HTML app. The bundled Quran text and offline reading files remain available. It does not erase advertising-provider records or files exported elsewhere. Android Settings > Apps > NŪR Quran > Storage > Clear storage/data removes the installed app's local records; wording varies by device. Export a backup first if you wish to keep your notes. Removing local app data does not remove separately exported backup files; delete those files using your file manager. A restored operating-system backup may restore app data. There is no NŪR user account to delete. For support emails or information you have sent us, request deletion at projects.mma@gmail.com. We retain support correspondence only as needed to address the request, maintain a relevant support record, or comply with applicable legal obligations. Information held by independent service providers follows their own retention and deletion arrangements.
The app's configured audio connections use HTTPS. Local storage is not an encrypted personal vault; your device lock, system backups and device security affect its protection. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure. Email and advertising/service providers may process information in countries other than yours under their applicable privacy arrangements.
The app is a Quran reader and listener for a general audience. It does not ask users to create profiles or submit their age. If a parent or guardian believes a child has sent us personal information, contact us so we can investigate and address it. Advertising and audience settings in the Android release must reflect its declared audience. Depending on your location and circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, withdraw consent, or complain to a supervisory authority. Contact projects.mma@gmail.com for requests concerning information we hold. We may need sufficient information to identify the relevant correspondence; we cannot identify or remotely erase records held only on your device.
We may update this policy when the app or its providers change. The effective date above identifies the current text. Material changes should be reflected in the app's disclosures and store listing.
