For CRS 625: Current Issues in Creative Studies, I chose to read "Weaving Creativity into Every Strand of Your Curriculum" by Dr. Cyndi Burnett and Julia Figliotti for my Hot Books Review Project. This book was published in 2020 but I received the book from Cyndi herself in 2024. I found "Weaving Creativity" to be a great resource for my classroom. Each chapter features a different skill from the Creativity Skill Set but the book can also be flipped open to a random page for needed inspiration.
"I began to think about how this book could be helpful to me in my classroom as a high school art teacher. How could I possibly retain all of these ideas? It was overwhelming until I truly decided to make the book my own. I started highlighting ideas I liked. I stuck post-it notes next to ideas with my own thoughts of how I could implement them in my class...Weaving Creativity is a book that gives you permission to fold its pages and write notes in the margins. This book invites you to frequent the chapters and leave bookmarks throughout. It is a book you can return to over and over again."
