Throughout my time in the program I've also had to take art credits to fulfill my Master's credit as an art teacher. Taking these art credits while also developing my skills in creativity has been helpful to my creative process. I have noticed I am less likely to judge my ideas or my work and I am more open to exploring with new materials and processes.
I was diagnosed with anxiety and Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) shortly after I began the program and I have been able to work through my emotions and improve my mental well-being with this new access to my own creativity. Two years later I have a full collection of works that surround a theme of anxiety and I have had opportunities to play with new materials in everyday creativity.
I'm excited to continue my journey through my artwork after I have completed the program with the goal of hosting a solo show.
