VA Rotations

Expectations: 

• The VA Consult fellow is on call continuously from Monday 07:00am to Friday 11:00am. 

  • He/she will continue to receive pages from Friday 11:00am to 17:00. During this time, he/she will be responsible for covering established patients but can forward new consults to the VA short call fellow. 

• Inpatient and outpatient rotations are core rotations. Therefore, if the Outpatient fellow is out, the Endoscopy fellow will be pulled to cover Hepatology clinics

Paging:

• McGuire VA Hospital Telephone System and Paging:

  • See QGenda on VA intranet for up to date on call schedule

• • Paging from inside the hospital: all numbers are 4‐digit extensions

  • Paging from outside the hospital: dial the main number (675‐5000, and enter the 4‐digit extension)

  • To page MCV pager numbers from inside the VA, dial *601 and follow the recorded instructions

  •  VA attendings are not on the MCVH paging website/app and do not get text pages.

  • To dial an external number while at the VA, dial 9 followed by the number

• CPRS Templates:

  • Esophageal pH (Bravo)

  • Esophageal impedance

  • Manometry full. Manometry abbreviated (most commonly will use abbreviated).

• Post-RFA and G-POEM Patient Instructions
