ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN STRATEGY AND DESIGN DEVELOPMENT-ARCHITECTURE FOR PLACE-MAKING
brief
This phase translated the findings from the preliminary studies into a coherent architectural response to the urban context. The design explored how the building could engage with the surrounding street conditions and observed user behaviours while responding to the needs of the local community. Design development considered spatial planning, structure, function, and environmental performance alongside statutory requirements, lighting and acoustic strategies, and façade and envelope design. The outcome integrated architectural theory, construction logic, and building services into a Learning Centre proposal grounded in its urban setting.
outcome
The outcome of this phase was a Learning Centre design that responds directly to its urban context and community needs. The proposal integrates urban design principles, statutory considerations, spatial and environmental strategies, and façade articulation into a cohesive architectural scheme. Informed by user behaviour and street dynamics, the final design demonstrates a clear progression from concept to detailed development, with strong integration between architectural intent, construction logic, and building services.
