After WWI, soldiers returned home and looked for work.
Economic production moved away from war production; factories stopped producing weapons, uniforms, and other war goods.
Farmers could not longer sell the same amount of food to the army and navy.

Other countreies retaliated by raising their own tariffs on goods from the U.S, which led to a decrease in world trade,.
Impact of climate and natural disasters
Efforts to drain parts of the wetlands to create more farmland and build homes further threatened the Seminoles. The demand for their alligator hides and furs fell. The Seminoles began selling their patchwork art, baskets, and other crafts to tourists, who visited their roadside homes.
In 1926, a deadly hurricane struck South Florida, destroying many buildings and demolishing docks and boats.

Teapot Dome
A scandal that exposed corruption in Harding's administration.
President Harding appointed some of hius old friends to important cabinet positions. (Advise) The Secretary of Interior under Harding secretly leased oil-rich lands in Teapot Dome, Wyoming in exchange for personal bribes.
