Applications for CUWiP 2018 are now CLOSED!

Any undergraduate student at a US institution is invited to apply to attend an APS CUWiP. Apply to the site location determined by your region (as illustrated in the image below). The CUWiP at the University of Oregon services the Northwest region including the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, and northern California (including San Jose, San Francisco, and all areas north).


Students in Canada are encouraged to apply to the Canadian CUWiP at Queens University, Kingston, Ontario.


Note that there is a $45 registration fee that will be due upon registration. For more information, see the "Application and Registration" section of the FAQ tab.

To attend an APS CUWiP conference, interested undergraduates must apply to their designated site. Once they are accepted, they must register to confirm their spot. The timeline is as follows:

September 1 - October 13, 2017 ~ APS Application is open

November 6 - 17, 2017 ~ Accepted students are contacted and invited to register

November 22 - December 1, 2017 ~ Previously wait-listed students are contacted and invited to register

November 6, 2017 - January 9, 2018 ~ Participants make travel arrangements (see the Travel tab), working with site organizers if necessary (we can be contacted at uo.cuwip2018@gmail.com). Participants are also encouraged to join our Facebook group to meet other participants

December 18, 2017 ~ Travel itineraries due to organizers for those whose departments cannot cover their travel

January 9 - 11, 2018 ~ More detailed, site-specific information is distributed to all participants

January 12 - 14, 2018 ~ Attendees gather at the University of Oregon for the Northwest regional APS CUWiP!

January 26, 2018 ~ Deadline for CUWiP reimbursement of travel costs (if applicable)
