Inception meeting

To initiate the drafting process of a comprehensive national teacher policy in Lao PDR, the Inception Meeting was organized with the following objectives.

Objectives

1. To report the entire work process to the Advisory Committee, the Technical Drafting and Review Committees, direct beneficiaries from line departments, institutes and centers within the Ministry of Education and Sports and key relevant development partners;

2. To provide the participants with an overview of the elements involved in developing a Comprehensive National Teacher Policy including a costed implementation strategy;

3. To provide an overview of the nine dimensions of a Teacher Policy and what they entail;

4. To introduce tools and frameworks to use in developing each dimension; and

5. To discuss and agree the outline of the National Teacher Policy
