At the mid-stream level, pre-service teacher education serves as a key factor for Lao PDR to be able to increase the qualified teachers supply, hence UNESCO Bangkok has been working with the teacher training colleges for Lao PDR to achieve the better deliver quality teacher education that are gender-responsive, inclusive, participatory and efficient to better equip teachers, teacher educators and education officials.

Teacher training colleges which UNESCO Bangkok has close collaboration with, especially concerning the Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education (B.Ed. in ECE)
