ADVANCED PROGRAM

Objectives

This course prepares graduates to enter the professional practice of engineering and experience the industry working environment to prepare for their future career.

  1. Socially Responsible: Advanced program’s graduates identify, engage, interpret and analyze stakeholder needs and cultural perspectives; establish goals and identify constraints, uncertainties (social, ethical, responsible, cultural, legislative, environmental, economics etc.) to define the system requirements.

  2. Design Oriented: Advanced program’s graduates apply problem solving, design thinking, engineering design and decision-making methodologies to develop components, systems and processes to meet specified requirements.

  3. Technically Proficient: Advanced program’s graduates apply abstraction, mathematics and discipline fundamentals, software, tools and techniques to evaluate, implement and operate systems.

  4. Personal and interpersonal skills: Advanced program’s graduates apply a skill set consisting of communication, teamwork, critical thinking, time management, leadership, innovation and entrepreneurship mindset to collaboratively accomplish the demanded project.

Learning outcomes

At the end of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Apply knowledge of engineering, science and systematic processes to identify, formulate, design and manage the undertaking of a major engineering project in Electronics and Communication Engineering/embedded systems and related fields.

  2. Develop, analyze, and critically evaluate alternative options in order to justify and generate solutions in a real-world project

  3. Design and conduct appropriate experiments and other tests, analyze and interpret result data and formulate reliable conclusions

  4. Use relevant technical methods and modern tools, software in engineering design, implementation and evaluation.

  5. Develop an appreciation of the social context of engineering work by incorporating public health, safety, welfare, and environmental concerns in design decisions

  6. Participate in project management, including assigning tasks to team members, developing a schedule, tracking progress, and adjusting the project schedule as needed to ensure completion

  7. Consolidate higher-level applied communication skills (written, oral, interpersonal, professional presentation) to present clearly and effectively the proposed solution, conclusions and/or recommendations using English language.

  8. Demonstrate knowledge of a professional code of ethics and apply it to a real engineering problem in order to produce the required design outcome.

  9. Conduct literature survey, assess, and utilize information from external sources, to do independent learning and make engineering decisions
