Wade's Memory is a game scene project MY friends and me built. We designed a protagonist - a robot Wade. Through the robot's eyes, players could wander in the big mechanical, steampunk-style city. By interacting with the residents, players could realize the relationship between the robot and the local people, and know the story about this place.
We had designed different structures for our main scene - the Giant Steampunk City. For better showing all of the teammates' design works and for better gameplay flow through, we finally decide to build a huge, complex building, with 3 layers divided into 5 domains, on a 4 crane-outrigger-like support base structure.
Building Design
Since I need to design a building that can connect with the characteristics of my character, which is a Scout, I decided to extract the features of two objects that relate to scouting activities: a telescope and a periscope. the entire shape of the building is an extension of the telescope structure and the main area of this building was designed under the idea of a lens. The windows' design was from a cartoon-style submarine which was a connection between the entire building and the periscope equipment I put on the building.
Since this character is a Steampuck-style Scout, some soldier-style equipment is unavoidable to use on it. With many leather and bronze material put on this male character, it just make it like a combination of the west ranger and sophisticated steam technology.
