THIS GROUP IS CLOSED FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE
Jagged black stone and a glacier descending to the ocean below, covered entirely in ice and snow most of the year, except for a few warmest summer months. Kitos Cliff is the largest and most prominent, leaning over the turbulent seas. Moulins and loose ice shifted by meltwater streams can drop into deep, jagged carveways of ice, spelling death for the careless or unlucky.Â
Spindly holes of ice and stone, worn down by tides and melts. These can be ripe feasting grounds of shellfish, but would-be hunters take care, lest rising tide or an unseen drop trap them in the winding tunnels.Â
A lava tube forms a sizeable cavern near Kitos cliff along the tundra border, where the Anemon can store herbs and holy items, as well as keep injured packmates sequestered.
Open expanses of grass, lichen, and eroded stone that bloom brightly in meltseason, and become a frigid wasteland come long dark
Mossy mixed birch and conifer forest, interspersed with swampy shallow ponds. Berry bushes and ferns are plentiful, and the area draws many grazers.
A thick pine forest that stands isolated near the cliffs on the tundra. The Eclipse and First Frost maintain private dens here.
Volcanic rock long eroded has turned this beach's sand a dark black color in long stretches. During cold months, the bay freezes over and the ice can be crossed. Seals pup here in summer months.
Rocky outcroppings provide hideaways for tidal creatures, and can prove rich hunting ground for the patient and perceptive
In September, Salmon abandon the ocean to travel upstream inland, turning the beach and the rivers flowing toward it into a feastground
Dozens of rocky islands of varying sizes line the coast within swimming distance, many forested. Nesting seabirds provide eggs and chicks during warmer months for the surefooted who can brave the climbs up the cliffsides, and in autumn, fish spawns change the waterscape dramatically.
Between October and November, Herring spawn in the millions along the coastline, coating the beaches in eggs and turning the water white with sperm. Birds, sea animals, and beach mammals alike all feast on the bounty
Beneath the waves a vibrant forest blooms, and at its bed clams, crabs, and other treats can be snatched by nimble divers
