Current Events

This Event is collaboratively brought to you by WynBird, Baseballfan2414, and dswolf!

Potential rewards for these events varies. On success, you could get perks, items, decorations, or a renown bonus. Failures may offer some rewards, but generally far fewer, if any at all. If you're willing to embrace consequence... you could also end up maimed or scarred for life! Fun times! Whatever you choose to participate in, it's a great way to meet other characters and get your own established!

Once you've completed a renown-worthy response, use the relevant form to post in the discord's #event-submission channel. An event runner will roll results based on the information you provide, and give you a little blurb back regarding what happens, along with a list of any earned rewards!

If you use Aptitudes to determine the outcome, your stats will effect success or failure. For interactions between player characters, either both must use Aptitude, or neither. If you do not use Aptitudes, it will be a 50/50 success or fail chance.

IF YOU OPT-IN TO INJURIES, and roll an injury, these MUST be healed via RECOVERY pieces.

Rolling is optional! If you don't care about rewards and just want to participate, you can!

Aniwaya, Aryn, & Friendly Dispersals

Latesummer Feast

In preparation for the coming cold seasons, Aryn and Aniwaya have come together for the Latesummer Feast. A tradition going back many years, they take turns hosting the great celebration. This feastyear, Aryn territory will open itself to allies and friendly strangers alike in a show of hospitality and generosity. It is a time to reaffirm and build new diplomatic ties.

THE HUNT

Without a hunt, there would be little to feast on! One large party is assembled to take on mighty prey. This season, a mature Aurochs has been spotted wandering the grasslands without its herd. Others may pair off in smaller groups, or hunt solo if they're feeling daring.

To participate, depict any of the following: Gathering together before a hunt, participating in a hunt itself, bringing spoils back to the gathering, resting after a hunt, etc. You can participate multiple times!

THE TOURNEY

This year, the Penns Athena and Tanrhys, and their son, Kane, are hosting a tournament to determine who is greatest warrior present this feast. These will be 1v1 fights. The combatant who wins the most fights at the end of the tourney will be named Champion, which comes with a hefty renown bonus.

To participate, depict any of the following: Greeting an opponent before the match, fighting the opponent, celebrating (or crying) after the match, etc. You can (and should!) participate multiple times!

THE HOT SPRINGS

Aryn is famous for its Hot Springs, believed to be a place where one can find healing as well as relaxation. Some are closer to the main den, but others are a bit of a hike! Tackling a longer journey is sure to reward you with a great view, and maybe some stories to tell!

THE FESTIVAL

The Festival itself, of course! There's mingling, dancing, exploring, flirting, the potential to embarrass yourself in front of literally everyone you know and a lot of people you don't... what's not to love!

Nokoni

Nadaam

Nokoni territory is sparse of prey an unforgivingly savage... but that doesn't mean there's no excitement to be had (or contrived.) A great bison herd has been spotted moving through the Steppe, and the warbands have all come together to bring down this imposing prey. It is a time to prove valor, show off wealth, and trade valuable spoils of war. Such gatherings can make or break a Caanus, and provide opportunities for all under the Nokoni yolk...

THE HERD

Bison are large, fierce beasts, especially when gathered in a herd full and fat from summer grass. Stampeding beasts can easily trample those who run too close, and bolder ones who stand their ground or end up too exhausted to flee still have mighty horns and kicking hooves to fight with. It is a glorious battle.

FIGHT NIGHT

Nokoni live and die by the fierceness of their fangs. As the cool moon rises over the steppe, it's the perfect time to blow off steam, and show off how much better you are than everyone else. Most will 1v1, but those feeling particularly bold can take on multiple foes at once if they so choose, and it's Nokoni, so no one is ruling out a match spilling out into the crowd of onlookers and turning into more generalized chaos...

THE BAZAAR

This many Nokoni in one place make for the perfect opportunity to trade. Spoils are gathered and hawked at the campsite. Some are treasures, some are... less treasurable. A canny negotiator could come away with great prizes, a less talented tradesman could be swindled out of their wares. While food, decorations, and artifacts of variable usefulness are here in abundance, there are also slaves for sale, and certain... services. If you think you can sell it, you might as well try selling it during Nadaam.

PAY TRIBUTE

If your personal glory is less ambitious, you might use this opportunity to suck up to your superiors. The Caanuses of the various warbands are all gathered here, and if its favor with the bosses your courting, offering them tribute for being so cool and scary is a good way to earn it! Maybe you could give them a cool rock, or a new wife, or a useful slave. Alternatively, they might hate your gift, and you could end up shunned or worse, but... c'mon. You're Nokoni. You're not scared. Right...?
