The Any% speedrun routes have been seperated based on when the player collects the red sword, the later we collect it the harder the tricks we will have to perform to do so.
Beginner Route - Collects the Red Sword after obtaining the Green Sword
Intermediate Route - Collects the Red Sword after the Boots (Requires Crenel Clip)
Advanced Route - Collects the Red Sword after the Ocarina (Requires the above and multiple Armos Clip )
Octo Clip Route - Collects the Red Sword when getting the Blue Sword after Temple of Droplets (Requires the above and Octo Clip )
Green Kinstone Manipulation Routes (One MUST be chosen to collect 4 kinstones for the Boomerang).
Double Manip x2 and LLR Manip (Easiest, Best matched with Beginner)
Double Manip, Lever Clip and LLR Manip (More risky, Best matched with Intermediate)
Triple Manip and Lever Clip (Hardest)
Many other alternate kinstone manips exist, once you gain more understanding of the run you can choose the combination that works best for you.
Optional Tricks to save time (minutes:seconds):
Peahat Clip (3:00)
Octo Manip (0:30-1:00)
Canon Room with bomb in DHC (0:10)
Triple Darknut Manip (~0:20)
Vaati Manips (~1:00)
All routes identical throughout the Intro, Deepwood, Crenel, Cave of Flames, and the first divergence happens at Green Sword.
After the green sword the Beginner route collects the Red sword and watches the Vaati Cutscene in Western Woods before reading the sign. All the other routes perform Crenel Clip to Western woods to read the sign.
After collecting the Boots the Intermediate route goes to Hyrule Castle to collect the Red Sword before heading to Castor Wilds. The other routes head directly to Castor Wilds.
The Beginner route collects the 3 golden kinstones in the swamp before continuing through Wind Ruins to Fortress of Winds. The other routes perform Peahat Clip (optional) to skip the Golden Kinstones and Wind Ruins to reach Fortress of Winds.
The Beginner and Intermediate routes have the red sword to create clones which makes the Lever and Armos Clip techniques optional to save some time. The Advanced and Octoclip routes only have green sword and can't create clones which makes Armos Clip required twice. Octoclip also collects an extra red kinstone than all the other routes.
The Beginner and Intermediate routes already have the red sword so just fuse with the tingle brothers before collecting the Boomerang. The Advanced route has to collect the Red Sword after the Blue tingle, before continuing to the rest of the fusions. The Octoclip route does a fusion with the smith for an extra bottle, but does not collect the Red sword. The Octoclip route must do an OG in LonLon to reach the Pink Tingle. While hitting the buttons in the trees to gain access to the Boomerang, the Advanced route does the Moblin Fight.
The Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced routes head directly to the 2nd switch after the 1st one before heading to the Blue Chu fight for the lantern, the Save and Quit after the Blue Chu fight is used to set up the Octo Boss Fight Manipulation (optional). The Octo clip route does the dungeon entirely differently, instead it gets Big key first. With the Big key it does Boss Door Clip directly to Blue chu for the lantern, after the lantern then the Octoclip strat is performed to fight the boss.
All routes converge after Temple of Droplets through Palace of Winds and Dark Hyrule Castle, Beginner route has to navigate the guards outside castle however the other routes can use the Main Entrance. Octoclip route must upgrade the sword twice in a row before Palace of Winds, and then after Palace it has to fight the 2 Moblins outside of Hyrule Castle that it delayed.
