Outside of the department and university, I have also contributed my time serving the mathematics community as a reviewer for several journals and participating in events at conferences. It is through these activities that I am fostering a place of learning and growth.
Through the years, I have contributed to the advancement of research through peer-review service for several academic journals. In Spring 2025, due to my paper on the Fibonacci sequences, I reviewed a paper for Open Mathematics that discussed their results about the eventually monotonic solutions of the generalized Fibonacci equations. In Spring 2024, due to my expertise in mathematical modeling, I reviewed a paper for Scientific Reports on contact tracing of COVID variants in Vermont. This work allows me to apply my expertise to evaluate emerging investigations while supporting the dissemination of rigorous, high-quality research that advances knowledge and inspires future scientific inquiry.
In January 2024, at the Joint Mathematics Meetings, I served as a judge for the undergraduate poster session. I reviewed posters from aspiring young mathematicians on their research in theoretical and applied mathematics. These experiences are particularly meaningful to me because they provide an opportunity to witness students' intellectual growth firsthand as they engage in research and communicate their work with passion and purpose. Seeing undergraduate students develop as scholars reinforces my commitment to fostering meaningful learning experiences and cultivating the next generation of researchers whose work can contribute to addressing complex challenges and strengthening society.
