April 2026, Center for Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity (CURGO) Poster Seminar
Delivered an informational seminar to undergraduate research mentees through CURGO on effective strategies for developing and presenting research posters in preparation for the 2026 Festival of Scholars. The seminar introduced students to the essential components of a strong academic poster, including organizing research findings, presenting data clearly and concisely, developing an effective visual layout, and communicating complex ideas to diverse audiences. Students also received guidance on delivering engaging oral presentations, responding to questions, and effectively highlighting the significance and broader impact of their research.

April 2026 - Center for Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity (CURGO) Career Panel
In collaboration with Dr. Komarova and Dr. Wodarz at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and Xavier University of Louisiana’s Center for Undergraduate Research and Graduate Opportunity (CURGO), we organized an academic career panel for CURGO student mentees during the 2025–2026 academic year. The panel was designed to expose undergraduate researchers to diverse academic and research career pathways while providing students with an opportunity to engage directly with experienced faculty and researchers.
The discussion addressed topics such as graduate and professional school preparation, pursuing careers in academia and research, navigating the transition from undergraduate study to advanced degrees, and developing the professional skills necessary for long-term success. Students were encouraged to ask questions and gain insight into the experiences, challenges, and opportunities associated with pursuing research-focused careers.
This career panel was part of CURGO’s broader commitment to providing undergraduate researchers with a comprehensive professional development experience.
