Xavier University of Louisiana (XULA)
2023-2024 Teaching Writing Portfolio Group
Participated in the Teaching Writing Portfolio Group hosted by CAT where faculty members gathered in a monthly discussion on what makes a Teaching Portfolio and how we can present our portfolio for professional development.
#LearnEverywhereXULA certification Level 1, 2, 3
The certificate is given by the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Faculty Development (CAT+FD) for participation and completion of the #LearnEverywhereXULA or #LEX certification. Topics covered: Learning Objectives; Assessments; Activities; Instructional Materials; Course Technology; Learner Support; Rubrics; Video Lectures; Self-Assessments; Group Work; and more. Earned and completed Levels 1 and 2 in September 2022. Earned and completed Level 3 in November 2022.
Spring 2022 Faculty Writing Group
Participated in a Faculty Writing Group hosted by CAT where faculty members gathered in a weekly writing session. In these sessions, we dedicated an hour a week to focus on writing our papers, grants, or other scholarly material.
Preparing Mentors and Advisors at Xavier (P-MAX) Mentorship Education workshops
P-MAX is a Mentorship Education Program hosted by CAT, presented by Dr. Tyra Gross. They hold yearly workshops for XULA faculty to advance their mentorship with XULA students. Topics covered: Identity, bias & student success; Inclusive Mentoring; Self-care; Effective communication; and more. Participated in Summer 2022, 2023, 2024 workshops.
Teaching Learning Academy (TLA) Certificate
A certificate on "The Humanity of Inclusive Practices: Liberatory and Contemplative Pedagogy" given by the John N. Gardner Institute for Excellence in Undergraduate Education. Topics covered: Understanding and reflecting on students' experiences and outcomes; Transforming courses for an inclusive and equitable learning environment; and more. Certificate completed and earned in July 2022.
Equity Summer Institute 2022
A summer workshop program to discuss equity issues for various campuses around the country. The institute focuses on promoting equity, accessibility, inclusion, and diversity in all aspects of academia, but primarily those elements that contribute most significantly and directly to students. Topics varied among panels and group discussions to identify equity issues, identify equity goals for the institution, and provide insight into similar programs around campus. The workshop took place in June 2022.

Certificate of Teaching Excellence
A certificate is given for excellence in teaching as a faculty member of the Dartmouth Mathematics Department.
University of California, Irvine (UCI)
Center for Integration, Research, Teaching, and Learning (CIRTL) Associate Level
A certification program at UCI, hosted by the Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation, focuses on the progression of pedagogical development through research and teaching. Topics covered: Teaching responsibilities; Learning objectives; Rubrics; Active Learning; Equity and diversity; Mentorship; Effective communication; Self-Assessments; and more. Certificate at the Associate Level earned in June 2017.
Certificate of Teaching Excellence
A certificate is given for an excellence in teaching as a Graduate Student of the UCI Mathematics Department.
Certificate in Teaching Excellence Program (CTEP)
A certification program at UCI, hosted by the Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation, focuses on the advancement of pedagogical practices through designing lessons using evidence-based pedagogical principles and analyzing and assessing teaching practices. Topics covered: How people learn; Active Learning; Inclusive teaching; Collaborative learning; and more.
Pedagogical Fellow
A pedagogical fellowship program, hosted by the Division of Teaching Excellence and Innovation, where graduate students prepare for a future faculty position by participating in advanced pedagogical and professional development in an interdisciplinary community that emphasizes professional and personal support. Fellows develop and refine advanced pedagogical skills; create and implement discipline-specific Teaching Assistant training programs for new graduate students, and prepare for the academic job market.
