Responsibilities
Oversee the performance capture pipeline, ensuring seamless integration with animation and game engines.
Work collaboratively with animators and designers to define and implement performance capture methodologies.
Optimize and troubleshoot technical issues related to performance capture data and implementation.
Develop and document best practices for performance capture processes to enhance efficiency.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior technical artists and animators.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in performance capture.
Participate in pre-production planning to assess and prepare the performance capture needs of projects.
Extensive experience as a technical artist with a focus on performance capture in the video game industry.
Strong proficiency in motion capture software and hardware, including but not limited to Vicon or OptiTrack.
Experience with game engines such as Unreal Engine or Unity, with a focus on animation pipelines.
Solid understanding of animation principles and character rigging.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively share ideas across multiple teams.
A proactive approach to learning and adapting to new tools and processes.
